    Paul Fyereabend was born January 13, 1924 in Vienna, Austria, he was a well known philosopher.

    In April of 1942 Fyereabend was drafted into the army and after basic training was assigned near Brest in France. Later he volunteered for officer school and hoped that the war would be over before finishing. he served as an officer starting in1943 through the rest of his active duty until he was shot directing traffic resulting in permanently having to used a stick to walk and having frequent server pain.

    In 1975 Fyreeabend's first book was published called the "Against Method" In the book it explains his belief that there isn't any methodological rules that are always used by scientist.     Fyereabend's book titled "Science in a Free Society" was published in 1978 continuing his argument in his book "Against Method". It was on his ideas of reality, criticism, and proliferation. It explained that if one method is not challenged by a contending method then how do we know if it can be proven false.

    Paul Fyereabend moved to california and became a U.S. citizen in 1958 to be a professor at Berkley, where he taught from (1958-1990), he also taught at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology from (1980-1991). He retired in 1991.
