Terrorist Attack
The 9/11 terrorist attack killed around 3,000 people. There were 4 planes that crashed that day. One crashed into the pentagon. Two went into the World Trade Center, and made the twin towers crash into the ground. The last one was headed for the White House, but the passengers fought the hijackers and they ended up in a feild in Pennsylvania. -
The Patriot Act is Signed
On this day the Patriot Act was signed in a conference room at the White House by President Bush. He gave a speech saying that for then on communication between terrorists, within technology, will be under surveillance. -
Deffunding of Protests
The Deffence Departments Information Awareness Office shut down funding for protesters against the Patriot Act. -
Modifing the Law
An attorny gerneral complained that certain sections of the Patriot Act was breaking the law. eventuall the White House realized that he was right, ans President Bush sighned a new modified version of it. -
The Truth Comes Out
Bush told the people that the government was secretly easdroping on phone calls. -
Four More Years
President Bush signed the Patriot Act again for it to be renewed for four more years. He says in hi=s speech that we need it and " we will not be attacked again. -
Obama Renews
President Obama extended the Act again foranother four years.
