In 1972, Atari Inc. creates its first arcade game Pong which was created by Allan Alcorn who created it as a training exercise. Alcorn purchased a $75 Hitachi black-and-white television set and placed it into a 4 foot wooden cabinet and set the wires into boards to create the necessary circuitry. It turned out to be a big hit.
