Week 5
First estimation: N/A on Holidays but also likely research and acquire GPS application. Updated: Downloaded and practiced collecting GPS data whilst at Perisher. -
Week 6
Estimated: Gather data – consider asking for another person to help by also taking a reading with their own device. Make relevant notes. Updated: Focus on data collection, check compatibility of GPS applications with available GIS - successful. Significant Website Development this week. -
Week 7
Estimated: May need this week to gather data also. Work on sorting out data - perhaps importing into Arc. Updated: Imported relevant layers and source data into ArcGIS. Including 5cm Bathurst Imagery. -
Data Capture 1
Actual: Went to Macquarie River to capture data, attempted to capture tracked data from walking the path and also POI data. Somewhat unsuccessful. -
Data Capture 2
Actual: Went to Macquarie River to capture round 2 of data - now using first GPS application and second application for testing and redundancy. Much more successful. -
Week 8
Estimated: be sure validation has been made – load in DFSI Spatial Data layers and attempt to validate locations. Actual: Began initial analysis on captured data. Seen some errors, decided to gather more data to improve analysis. -
Data Collection 3
Actual: Collected another round of data on both applications. Successful. -
Week 9
Actual: helped capture data for Tom Ferguson. Focused time on MSS assignment. Worked on website - put in Forum. Performed minor analysis on data. -
Week 10
Actual: Work on MSS - assignment due. -
Begun Report
Actual: Begun Report - structure created and details entered. -
All Captured Data loaded into GIS
Actual: loaded gpx files to Google Maps and ArcMaps. Begun analysis on distance between points. Made progress with website - added videos, images and improved details. -
In-depth Analysis begun
Actual: Significant work on report - including budget and safety details. Analysis on distance between logged points per application. Average taken. Helpful for validation purposes. -
TAFE Spring Vacation Week 1
Actual: Rewrote original proposal. Worked on website. Creation of this timeline, further data analysis. -
Workshop Meeting
Actual: met with other T6s and paired up to offer help and advice to each other. Worked on report. -
TAFE Spring Vacation Week 2
Projected: Complete methodology, budget and risk/hazard section of Report. Begin comments on Findings and Recommendations. Actual: Added my own drawn path to compare topo data with. Developed comparison analysis techniques. Completed new OVE Research Proposal document. -
Week 11
Projected: go to location and physically measure width of path. Take photos if desired. Fix structure of Report - begin placing relevant parts of Report on Website (template style). Actual: Created analysis model. Developed to be repeatable and clear. Analysis on this technique and outcome. -
Week 12
Projected: 80% data/validation analysis completed. Documentation on Spatial Services metadata/usage completed, complete overviews/relevant information on each GNSS application for Report. Actual: spent this week in White Cliffs capturing imagery of the town. No progress this week. -
Week 13
Projected: write introduction, draft 'results' for Report. Work on Website. Have feedback meeting with college. Actual: In the field for survey measuring heights for the Surface Model Enhancement Project, no progress was made this week. -
Week 14
Projected: Draft Report completed Actual: Much of the report completed; Peer feedback/Review section, data sampling, statistical anlaysis, WHS and worked on MSS 2 assignment. -
Week 15
Projected: work on website, focus on placing Report information into Website. Have Analysis completed, documentation for analysis - including graphs - also placed on website. Actual: Completed MSS2, all report sections completed (on word document for safety). Editing and proof reading begun. -
Week 16
Projected: No work. In the field for previously postponed Western Trip. Actual: Attending a Young Professionals Network event in Sydney. This week did see some editing of both report and MSS2 assignment. -
Week 17
Projected: No work. In the field for previously postponed Western Trip. Actual: Edits and upload of all project data and information to website. Updating timeline. -
FINISH AND SUBMIT
Projected: Complete and Submit all Final TAFE works. Including; website, report (on website and in document form).
