  • Earliest tombstones of the town

    1670 is when the town began it's living.
  • It starts (Act 1)

    The stage manager goes through the town and introduces some of the characters.
  • Mrs Gibbs and Doc Gibbs die (Act 1)

    The stage manager informs the audience that Mrs Gibbs and Doc Gibbs have died since 1901. The stage manager said this after years went by.
  • Professor Willard (Act 1)

    The stage manager gets Professor Willard and he talks about the geological data of the town, saying that most of the population is white. He also says that the town is mostly Republican and Protestant.
  • Act 2

    Many people fell in love and got married. George and Emily were getting married.
  • Flashback on George and Emily (Act 2)

    In act 2, the stage manager takes us back on Emily and George and how there relationship began and progressed.
  • The stage manager talk about the dead (Act 3)

    The Stage Manager introduces Joe Stoddard, the town’s undertaker, who is watching over a freshly dug grave, and Sam Craig, a cousin of Emily Gibbs. The stage manager also says that 9 years have passed. Sam asks Joe how Emily died and Joe says that she died from childbirth.
  • George appears (Act 3)

    George appears at Emily's grave and throws himself down on the ground and says some disappointing things. He did not know that Emily was watching him.
