  • Attacked Liberal Policies in Diet

    Similar to many other historical figures' "claim to fame", Bismarck made his first debut in outstanding fashion, voicing his belief that liberalism would destroy Prussia and and attacking liberals. This caught the attention of Wilhelm I, who obviously agreed with Bismarck's statements.

    Bismarck's marriage to Johanna stabilized his life, and her prescence allowed him to make important decisions with her mutual support.
  • Revolutions of 1848

    Opposing the populist belief of liberalism, Bismarck opposed the revolutions that were occurring across Europe, and promoted monarchy.
  • Ambassador to Russia

    Appointed as ambassador to Russia in 1857, Bismarck maintained good relations with Russia, and used his relationship later on in life as a leverage to couner Austria's power.
