  • The Great Migration

    The Great Migration was the movement of 6 million African Americans out of the Southern States into the Northern States. They moved out of the segregated South into the North so that they can have a good life.Most went into jobs since this was the time around WWI. There were many vacancies for jobs and the African Americans filled them.
  • Emergency Quota Act

    This was important because it restricted the number if immigrants entering the U.S. Some exceptions were for government officials and there families. This allowed us to keep track of who was in our country or not.
  • Immigration Act 1924

    This act put even more restrictions on allowing immigrants into the U.S. The quota provided immigration visas to two percent of the total number of people of each nationality. this completly disregarded the asian ethnicities.
