    This Submarine was built for the Civil War but was not used. It is made from iron with small circular plated of glass on top.

  • 1903 The Scripps Institute The Scripps Institute of Biological Research was founded to focus on marine studies (scientific research)

    This institute was created so it could find about more things about the Ocean and Marine Life.

  • The discover of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge

    A large rise was discovered in the Mid-Atlantic during the expedition of the HMS Challenger.

  • The Bathyscaphe Trieste descended to the Challenger Deep, more than 10,916 meters (35,813 feet) below the ocean’s surface(Navigation)
