  • 3 major laws/requirements for northwest ordinance’s new states

    The first new requirement was that each state had to guaranteed freedom of religion. The second requirement was the to a trial by jury to residents of the northwest. The last requirement was Slavery Was prohibited throughout the northwest.

  • 5 states created in the northwest ordinance

    From 1803-1858 5 new states were established in the Northwest Territory these 5 states were Ohio,Illinois,Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
