    Elie Wiesel
    Elie was born September 30,1928. He grew up in Sighet , Transylvania.
  • German Army

    German Army
    German army destroyed anything that belonged to the Jews in the capital of Budapest. Then German Soldiers decided to go to Sighet when they got aprroved by the government. They stayed in private homes or Jewish homes when they stayed and a couple weeks later two ghettos were made.
  • Left Sighet

    Left Sighet
    A couple weeks later the hungarian police took everyone in the ghetto and stayed in a other ghetto which they stayed at for a couple of days. A couple days later they went onto a train with 80 people to a car. The trains were in horrible conditions with bars on there windows and all there wall coverings shredded.

    When they arrived in Birkenau Elie and his father were seperated from his mother and sisters. They were sent to Auschwitz Concentration camp and got a tattoo with a prison number and after a couple weeks they were sent to a new camp Buna.

    New camp Buchenwald
    Elie had surgury on his foot because of a sole. But after surgury Hitler was coming and they were going to leave people in the hospital at the camp. So Elie went with and the prisoners marched to Glewitz for three days and then went to a new camp called Buchenwald.

    On January 28 Elies father died.

    Buchenwald let go prisoners and some blocks started to go.

    All Jewish were to be evacuated and by the end of the night the camp would be blown up.
