    Turning point-On the seventh day of the Passover, the Jewish leaders were arrested by the Germans. From then on, many laws were passed, that were making many restrictions on Jews. This relates to the theme because this is where Elie's big adventure begins and now he has to start going through many hardships.

    Elie Wiesel is Forced to the Ghetto
    Character Development-All the Jews were told to pack their belongings and move to the ghetto. They were all forced out of their homes and were instructed to run to the ghetto. This can relate to the theme statement because this is one of the events that let Elie realize how he was being mistreated and he had to keep on persevering.

    Arriving at Auschwitz
    Character Development-Elie Wiesel and his father arrive at Auschwitz after their march. Throughout the march, Eli was questioning many things and getting angry at every little thing. Auschwitz was one of the hardest camps to be in so Elie had to stay strong and not give up while staying there.

    Arriving at Buchenwald
    Character Development-After being in a wagon with people crying and dying, Elie Wiesel finally arrives at Buchenwald. Over a hundred people were in the wagon, but only 12 survived. This camp was near the end of when Elie would be free so he was having more motivation and hope.

    Elie Wiesel's Father Died
    Character Development-Ellie's father has been sick for a very long time and one night while Elie Wiesel is asleep, his father dies. Elie has a very guilty feeling inside of him because he didn't give his father the water that he asked for but he did not cry. He just had a feeling of great pain deep inside him. This event brought down Elie, and it was one of the greatest hardships in his life but he had to keep moving on and persevere.

    Elie Wiesel is Free!!
    Turning Point-Elie Wiesel hasn't eaten for 6 days and his evacuation was supposed to be on the tenth but it was postponed to the 11th. However, American troops came to save them so the last group all survived. This shows how all of Elie's hard work and his perseverance ended up in great success and he was finally free!
