This is when the Chinese first started imigrating to the US because of the economic chaos in China and try theire luck at the California gold rush

After the gold rush Chinese were viewed as "cheap labor" and started working on farms, laundry workers, gardners and most famous railroad workers. America went into a wide spread economic depression and many people lost their jobs and houses, and the Chinese who owned their own businesses countinued their life pretty much the same(https://www.historytoday.com/sites/default/files/bankrun.jpg)
-
Things went so bad that congress made the Chinese Exclution Act wich virtually banned all of the chinese from US soil(https://imengine.prod.srp.navigacloud.com/?uuid=122DC4B7-AC07-4529-9062-8B22F0802B1C&type=primary&q=72&width=1024)
-
This is when the Chinese Exclution Act was completly removed and there were no longer limits to how many chinese who could imagrate to the us. This is when different Chinatowns started to be made with the largest one being in New York City with over 100000 chinese american citizens live and work(https://image.newyork.no/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/Chinatown-in-New-York-Shops-335x252.jpg)
