  • Farming in the early 1900s

    During the late 1920s and early 1940s aqua farming was becming more and more popular. More people began opening aqua farms, and selling them on a smaller scale in local farmers markets.
  • Period: to

  • The 1960s

    By this point groups started forming together to open larger farms, and sell directly to stores an industries.
  • Aquaulture in 1970s

    Not much change from the 1960s. Slighty more advances in conteinment itself as well as testing faclities.
  • Aquaculture in the 1980s

    Companies began to start purchasing from farmers directly. As well as increase demand, and the national aquaculture act was put in place.
  • The 1990a

    At this point the large farming groups invested large amounts of money into opening their own aquacuture companies, as well as expanding current farms to meet with the neccassry demand.
  • The peek of aquaculture

    By this point Not only were large groups selling to indutries and other stores but most had thier own store. Also the market expanded not only smalller cheaper fish but moving up to shrimp and lobster and other expensive fish.
