    NICU nurses have a wide variety of duties farther than just caring for the critical infant. Sharing information with the parents and providing emotional support are just a few of the responsabilities of the nurse. The parents recieve most of their information from the nurses who collaborate with doctors so the nurses are required to have an understanding of procedures as well as the patients condition while providing support.
  • How to Become a NICU Nurse

    1. Obtain a Bachelors Degree from a four year school. (A BSN or bachelor of science in nursing) 2.Pass the National Council Licensure Exam for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) to become a RN
    2. (Optional) Become certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Council with a specialty in pediactrics and infants
