Ned is arrested for drunkness. Whilst he was being escorted by 4 policemen he broke free and ran into a shop. The police failed to catch him. Ned later gave himself up to a justice of the peace and was fined.

Ned's mother is sentenced to 3 years of hard labour in gaol for attempted murder of Constable Fitzpatrick.

A skull thought to have been Ned Kelly's was stolen from it's display case at the National Trust's old Melbourne gaol. It had been missing for 30years. This was until a West Australian farmer, Tom Baxter handed it back the authorities in Victoria in 2009.
