National Park Timeline By Ivy Hammon 1855 Blackfeet reservation was established 1878 Lake McDonald's name Lake McDonald got its name from a trapper name Duncan McDonald who carved his name in a nearby tree in 1878 1891 Railroad was created which increased western exspansion. 1895 The government acquired the land from the Blackfeet Natives May 11, 1910 Glacier National Park was established 1913 Lake McDoanald Lodge was built. 1932 established as Wateron International Peace Park 1932 A road was built leading into the heart of the park for easier accessibility. Known as Going-to-the-sun Road. Jul 22, 2015 Wild fire starts and burns over 4,000 acres 2030 By 2030 there won't be any glaciers left in the park.
