  • The beginning of citizenship

    This was the naturalization act of 1790 which gave citizenship to white persons and these citizens had to have been living in the united states for at least 2 years.
  • The 14th Amendment

    The 14th amendment allowed all people who were born or naturalized in the U.S citizenship along with African Americans.
  • The Naturalization Act of 1870

    This Act provided people who were born or from Africa more privileges than other non-white immigrants who were denied rights and citizenship protection
  • Citizenship Revoked

    In the year 1907 if a woman who was born in the United States were to marry and immigrant who is not a citizen than the expatriation act strips her of citizenship
  • Indian Citizen Act of 1924

    This allowed all native Americans that were born in the united states automatic citizenship
  • Civil rights Act

    In the 1960s anyone of a different Race, Color, Religion, Sex, or country of origin were discriminated against until the civil rights act of 1964, which under the law gave equal rights for all citizens or residents of the united states.
  • Immigration Reform and Control Act

    This Act prohibits employers from knowingly hiring, recruiting, or referring for a fee any alien who is unauthorized to work
