How The Laws of Physics Lie (1983) Nancy Cartwright became widely known after publishing a collection of essays. She proposed, "...that the fundamental laws of physics did not state truths about the world." (Dupré) In her publication, Nancy writes, "I will argue that the falsehood of fundamental laws is a consequence of their great explanatory power." This is in direct contrast with the fundamentalists of science ideas'.
