Nancy Cartwright was born on June 24, 1944, in Pennsylvania. She is currently 77 years old. Nancy is an American philosopher of science and teaches at the University of California at San Diego and is a Professor of Philosophy at Durham University. Nancy has written several books, including the infamous book "How the Laws of Physics Lie."

Nancy Cartwright received her BA degree in mathematics at the University of Pittsburgh in 1966. She then went on to pursue her Doctorate degree in Philosophy at the University of Illinois, Chicago and graduated in 1971.
