    This became the turning point of the war in the pacific. The Japanese advances were stopped and would now never again threaten Hawaii or dominate the pacific.

    This was a German counterattack ordered by Adolf Hitler. It caught the Allies by surprise and almost succeeded. But this didn't do so well for Hitler, for it only shortened his time.

    A conference attended by Roosevelt, Churchill, and Stalin. It was agreed upon that Poland, Bulgaria, and Romania would hold free elections.

    Deadlier than the last, this resulted in 50,000 casualties. Taking it was the most complex and costly operation in the Pacific campaign.

    This resulted in American victory. The U.S captured the island of Iwo Jima and planted their flag in honor of heroic sacrifice.
  • Surrender of Berlin/Germany

    The Allies began to push themselves to victory. They traveled to the position for an all-out assault against Hitler's capital. After the suicide of Hitler and a few of his closest associates, Germany surrendered.
  • Potsdam Conference

    This was the third conference between the leaders of the Big Three nations. It was held at Cecilienhof from 17 July to 2 August 1945. Important issues were failed to be recognized, contributing to the Cold War that was soon to commence.
  • Bombing of Hiroshima

    The U.S flew overhead and dropped an atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima, which went off at 8:15 a.m. It killed more than 60,000 residents. It became one of the reasons Japan surrendered on August 15th.
