What sparked all of this was California wanting to become a state without slavery. Salvor was ilegal in California. If they would of have slavor it would be under Mexico's rule. -
Compromise of 1850
In 1850 a lot of people were mad at California, They were mad at them because they enterd the Union as a free state. Then the rest of Mexican Cession was split into 2 parts. -

What put the tension between both of the staes when a little after James K. Polk election he announced that they have found gold and it brought more people to Califonia. Than they had to adtmit if they were going to a Union as a free state or as a slave state. -

The Northed liked this because they did not want slaves. The North was agaisnt it. The South did nor like it because they wanted slavory. They had slaves all over done there picking cotten and more things. -

They quickly made Kansas and Nebraska Act mad because they spread slavory into the West. One group wanted to and the other did not want it to go west. This was in the spot light. -
Bleeding Kansas
In Kansas they had two groups that were on different sides. Some of the men came and settled in Kansas ans brought guns and more with them. Then the other side had to find guns. They basicly went after eachother than some left and they brunt down there bulidings. -
Raiding of Harpevis Ferry
This raiding sparked all of the South. They wanted to go into his house and take all his guns and go and kill any white man down in the South and try to free a lot of more slaves. -

When Lincolen became president all of the states with slaves were unhappy. They did not want someone that was agisnt having slaves. It made a lot of partys not happy -
The Confederate States Of America
In 1861 6 states fowlled South Carolina's lead and seceded from the Union. This than lead up to this. They meeted in Alabama and the formed a new nation. They sparked a lot of peoples minds to start new things.
