This book was the first book I remember choosing to read on my own in my Kindergarten class and I was fascinated with all the colors, patterns and quarkey aspects of the story. I also loved the fact that the moral of this book was to enjoy being different.

In second grade I started this book series and it showed me that books were fun and silly and it became a goal to read every book in the series. This was my hobby in second grade and helped me make friends who also liked these books.

During fourth grade we had an optional "Read Across America" assignment where we had to read 50 books and when we finished we got a ribbon and I used 51 goosebump books to complete this and was so proud of myself and fell in love with horror stories and still enjoy them to this day.

This was the first chapter book series I ever completed and they helped shape the way I read books because there was a lot of information I struggled with and it made me realize I needed to become better at understanding grammar to understand these books better so I would highlight whatever I did not understand and it really shaped the way I read books from there on out.

This saga only had two books at the time I read them and I became obsessed and even waited at line at a bookstore to meet the author which felt like meeting a celebrity. This was also the first book I expressed extreme emotions too like crying and it even would effect me so deeply I would become depressed for periods of a time after reading which showed me that books can shape my attitude and perspective on life.

I read this book last year and it was eye-opening and is a book that I wish I had read early in my schooling because a lot of people can learn from Melody who is a young girl with cerebral palsy who is a genius but is trapped with no ability to speak so she suffers for a very long time and has taught me that a disability does not define a person and ultimately shaped how I will view my future students with or without disabilities.

This is a textbook for my developmental psychology class for infancy and childhood and it has been the most helpful book I have read this year because it discusses prenatal development to later teen years and since I am currently pregnant all this information is interesting and beneficial to me and I make sure to read thoroughly which has also helped me be successful in the class.
