    85 bc. Hopewell settled in the Scioto,Miami,and Muskingum river. They traveled great distances to barter.

    985 bc. They built their villages along rivers which is central and southern Ohio. They were mound builders.

    Ice Age Ends

    Ice age ended 9985 bc. With bigger animals gone hunters hade to catch smaller animals that did not feed them well.

    Fort anceint people settled near Great Serpent Mound in Ohio. Fort anceint people were farmers.

    They lived in Northern Ohio in the Wyando County. They were know as "Warriors".
  • Shawnee Tribe

    The Shawnee lived in the lower Scioto river. They fell during the battle o fallen timbers.
  • Deleware Tribe

    The Deleware settled in the eastern and northwestern Ohio valley. They were also allies with the french.
  • Lasalle claims OHIO

    Lasalle claimed Ohio in 1669. La Salle found the Ohio river for France.

    They lived in Maumae. They were also the strongest tribe. their leader was Little Turtle.
  • Ottowa Tribe

    Lived near the Maumee, Coyahoga and Sandusky River in Ohio. The chief was the famous Pontiac. His brother was Tecumsee.

    They lived in the Central Ohio. One villiage was located in Columbus, Ohio. They lived in longhouses.
  • French and Indian war

    The French and Indain war took place in north America. The war is known as the seven years war.
  • American Revolution

    The American Revolution was fought from the Ohio Country to the Atlantic Ocean.

    The British tried to convice the Native Americans to become allies to fight the French. The war was fought because the colonists were upset they could not move west of the Appalachian Mountains.

    This document declared the colonists' decision to free themselves from British rules. It was written by Thomas Jefferson.
