Movies That Matter Timeline

  • "Bridge to Terabithia"

    "Bridge to Terabithia"
    Quotes-
"You never know ahead of time what something's really going to be like". This quote made me think that you always have to keep trying new things, going new places, and meeting new people because you never know what good will come from it, or what lessons you will learn.
  • "The Adventures of Tintin"

    "The Adventures of Tintin"
    Quotes-
"Looks can be deceiving". This quote reminded me to not judge people or events in life on how they look or what they appear to be because you never know the good or bad contained in them.
  • "Rise of the Guardians"

    "Rise of the Guardians"
    Titles-
This film reassured me that the Easter bunny and the tooth fairy were most likely real, and it brought a sense of magic and imagination back into my life at the time.
  • "Brave"

    "Brave"
    Characters-
Marida is the main character, who defies the labels put on her as a young woman, and beats the men in archer competitions. I used to love the fact that I was strong, and good at sports, and that I could be as good as any boy was, just like Marida.
  • "Olympus Has Fallen"

    "Olympus Has Fallen"
    Characters-
Mike Banning worked in the secret service, and after watching this film I decided that I wanted to do something along those lines, and have been working towards that ever since.
  • "Epic"

    "Epic"
    Titles-
This film made me have a greater appreciation for nature and a better sense of imagination for what could be out there in our world, after watching the film.
  • "Unbroken"

    "Unbroken"
    Quotes-
"A moment of pain is worth a lifetime of glory". This quote reminded me to always give it your all in sports that you are dedicated to because it will pay off. Although our soccer team didn't win in the championships this year, it shows the hard work that we all put in, in order to get there and to have the best record in NHS girls soccer history.
  • "Inside Out"

    "Inside Out"
    Titles-
This film made me question how I thought, and I believed that there might be little people inside my head too, and I thought of what they may look and act like, or if they would be similar to the ones in the film.
  • "Everest"

    "Everest"
    Scenes-
I remember having a bunch of friends over for a birthday sleepover, and we rented "Everest" and watched it together, and I secretly cried at the sad parts, like when his wife had to say goodbye to him, and when he was left out to freeze on the mountain.
  • "Finding Dory"

    "Finding Dory"
    Scenes-
My cousin and I had gone to the movies without our parents and were in the theatre when the scene of Dory starting to look for her parents and not being able to find them was on the screen, and all of a sudden the fire alarm started going off(in the real theatre). This was kind of ironic because once my cousin and I had evacuated the theatre with everyone else, we had to call our parents because we didn't know where they went.
  • "IT"

    "IT"
    Settings-
The clown in the film hides in the sewers and under drainage grates on roads, and after watching the film, whenever I walked by one of these on the streets, I would be a bit more nervous and cautious because I thought there was a possibility there was something scary or dangerous in them.
  • "Moana"

    "Moana"
    Settings-
The animated film takes place on a beautiful tropical island, and it reminds me of my absolutely amazing vacation trip to Punta Cana in the DR. The Dominican Republic is an island, and the resort we stayed at was located in Punta Cana, DR, and was right on the beautiful clear blue water, just like in Moana, with palm trees everywhere and beautiful sunsets/sunrises every day.
  • "Frozen 2"

    "Frozen 2"
    Characters-
Ana is a laid back adventure-loving girl, who likes having fun and being silly, and I think that the two of us are very similar.
  • "When We First Met"

    "When We First Met"
    Scenes-
Noah keeps going into his past to try and plan out his future and is changing who he is and how he acts. High school made me think that I had to change to be the person to fit in and make people happy, but then I learned that I didn't have to do that, and like Noah eventually figures out, I should live the life I was given and not try to change it.
  • "All The Bright Places"

    "All The Bright Places"
    Settings-
The 2 kids in the film travel to numerous little places fairly close to where they live, and they just explore and find new things. This film reminded of little Newmarket, and how we can have our own cute little places to explore, such as fields, downtown, rivers, and more.
