The data from the surveys are retrieved by Heart Matters from the BRFSS database and loaded into a CSV file format. The file is stored on a hard drive and locked in a secure room.

Between January and May of 2017 the BRFSS healthcare survey system conduct surveys and compiles the data pertaining to:
Number of Adults per household and Gender
Health coverage and Health conditions
Height and weight
Medications
Smoking Habits
Initial analysis was used to determine if lack of medical coverage is a problem in Alabama. -
During the expansion, funding is provided to us an SQL database to store, manage, and analyze data.
The IT administrator was instructed to physically transfer the data to the new location. The data set and the codebook were copied to a flash drive, delivered to new location, and immediately imported into SQL. -
During re-review the data analyst discovered that the CSV file contained characters that were unreadable by the SQL database during migration.
It was determined that some rows of data did not import correctly into SQL database, resulting in data loss. -
Heart Matters hires a new data analyst for the Alabama location and asked them to re-review the master data set to determine the top 3 health concerns the new facility should focus on regarding heart health.

Heart Matters hires my consulting firm. My supervisor has asked me to speak with the data analyst at the Hartsville, TN office to get a clear understanding of the available data for an upcoming research project.
I will begin examining where the data originated and where it has been to better understand the quality and validity of the data.
