  • The industrial revolution

    The industrial revolution
    Agriculture and handicrafts-based economies were transformed into economies based on large-scale industry, mechanized manufacturing, and the factory system during the Industrial Revolution. Established enterprises became more productive and competitive as a result of modern computers, new power sources, and new ways of organizing work.
  • The American Civil war

    The American Civil war
    The American Civil War was waged between the US and the Confederate States of America, a group of eleven southern states that broke away from the Union in 1860 and 1861. The controversy arose largely as a result of a long-standing dispute about slavery's institution.
  • Confederation of Canada

    Confederation of Canada
    The British North American colonies of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and the Province of Canada came together to create the Dominion of Canada during the process of federal unification known as a confederation. The British North America Act, which had become Canada's Constitution, was the result of their efforts. The British Parliament approved it.
  • World War I

    World War I
    The Central Powers and the Allies fought each other in World War I. France, Russia, and the U.k. were the key members of the Allied Powers. After 1917, the United States also fought alongside the Allies. Germany, Austria-Hungary, the Ottoman Empire, and Bulgaria were the important figures of the Central Powers.

    The Vietnam War was a long, expensive, and divisive conflict that pitted North Vietnam's communist government against South Vietnam and its key ally, United States. The current Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union exacerbated the conflict.
