  • Honig v Doe

    Due to a violation of the EHA in California this act became enabled in Jan 20, 88. Giving all rights to the student including emotionally disturbed children to establish a comprehensive system of procedural safeguards designed to provide meaningful parental participation in all aspects of a child's educational placement. This is currently being done with students who are not able to learn in a school setting and need alternate placement.
  • The Americans With Disability Act

    This was signed by congress in 1990 prohibiting discrimination in employment, public services, public accommodations, and telecommunications. The court ruling was that anyone who qualified under this act is able to use public transportation, buy groceries where ever they want, the use of wheelchair accessibility and use any restroom without being discriminated against. This is being seen now where there is so much help out here for those with mild to severe disabilities.

    No Child Left behind Act

    The No Child Left Behind Act authorizes several federal education programs that are administered by the states. This act was signed by president Bush on Jan 8, 02. It was created to provide money for extra educational assistance for poor children in the schools. This has allowed the students to be able to get any extra help they need with the assistance of the teachers such as tutoring or any extra Math or reading help. The goal is to level the playing field and shorten the gap.
