The beginnings of Microsoft Windows.
In 1981 Microsoft started working on a program called interface manager. Then in November of 1985 Windows 1.0. Which was an extension of the previous software MS-DOS. This is very important to know because this is the starting point for all of the other software programs such as Windows 10. -
Windows 2.0 is released.
Then only 2 years after the release of Windows 1.0 Microsoft unveiled Windows 2.0. This Software was much better than the original extension MS-DOS and Windows 1.0 due to the fact that it had many more keyboard shortcuts added. Then had the minimize and maximize in place instead of the original way of zoom and Iconize. This is important because it shows that as this software was being released with new versions they were getting better every time. -
Windows 3.0
Windows 3.0 released in the 1990's. It allowed for applications to be run in protected mode. It also allowed for a better design. This showed that windows was improving something every time they started coming out with a new software. -
Windows 3.1x
This design of software allowed for peer to peer networking tools. This example is showing that they are now getting more advanced with their software allowing other people who have to a Microsoft computer to connect to each other. -
Windows 9x
Windows 9x allowed support for native 32 bit applications, plug and play hardware, preemptive multitasking, and longer name files of up to 255 characters. This is showing that in the year of 95 Microsoft went crazy with this versions of windows as it allowed for so many more features than before and this is showing great progress in computer software. -
Windows XP
This aimed to unite the Windows 9x software with the architecture of Windows nt. This provided a much better performance over the previous dos based software and then this would become the foundation for Microsoft and even other tech companies to create new versions of software. -
Windows Vista
When windows vista finally reached the public they were very disappointed with the results with this version there was slower boot up times, drop in performance, and UAC received a lot of criticism, and then there was a very stricter licensing agreement. Even though this had some very bad reviews this would lead up the creation of some of Microsoft's best software's. -
Windows 7
When Windows 7 was released it had some very cool and new features. Those features being compatible with applications, multi touch support, and many new performance improvements. -
Windows 8
When windows 8 was released it had some very cool features such as the optimization for tablets and even phones, and even a brand new start screen which had some criticism but otherwise it was a pretty good idea considering that after the release we get to the finale which is Microsoft latest software windows 10 which is a fantastic choice. -
Windows 10
We are the end of the road for the Windows software platforms we are now going to talk about Microsoft's latest software windows 10. Windows 10 allows for the ability of running windows store applications, faster performance, and even faster boot up time -
