    Michael Ruse was born on June 21st, 1940 in Birmingham, England to his parents William and Margaret. William was a civil servant and school bursar. William was also a part of the group the Society of Friends also known as today as Quakers. Michael attended a Quaker Boarding School in York and was part of the Junior Friends.
