Dwight ep.1

The Office Season 1 Character Color Timeline

  • Dwight Episode 1

    Dwight Episode 1
In this photo, and for the rest of the photos of Dwight, you'll see a pattern. Dwight is usually wearing something plain and relatively boring. The colors of his clothing are muted and everything he owns is basically the same. In this specific photo, he's wearing what looks like a sports jacket, a tie, and a long sleeve shirt. Each article of his clothing is a different shade of grey.
  • Michael Episode 1

    Michael Episode 1
Michael throughout the first season is often seen wearing outfits that look relatively similar to the the previous one. In the first four episodes, he's seen wearing long sleeve button-up dress shirts that are white, but all have a different tie. Michael as a character is simple, but not necessarily boring.
  • Dwight Episode 2

    Dwight Episode 2
In episode two of season one, Dwight is wearing an ugly mustard colored short sleeve dress shirt with a tie to match. This continues the trend set by Dwight of a very monochromatic color scheme through the seasons, and this specific color scheme is one which is extremely repetitive. Keep in mind that this episode is the only episode in which Dwight isn't wearing at least some type of grey top.
  • Michael Episode 2

    Michael Episode 2
Michael is seen wearing a white long sleeve button-up dress shirt with a black diamond patterned tie. The repeated pattern of clothing could help emphasize Michael's position in the office, as the boss, and what the boss looks like.
  • Dwight Episode 3

    Dwight Episode 3
Dwight brings back the grey monochromatic color scheme but with a black tie with a diamond pattern. You'll also see a pattern of Dwight only wearing short sleeve shirts. In one of the later seasons, Dwight explains his distaste for long sleeves, saying its like you're in a straight jacket.
  • Michael Episode 3

    Michael Episode 3
In episode three, Michael is wearing a grey sports jacket, a white long sleeve button-up dress shirt, and a black tie. His outfit choices vary slightly more than Dwight's but for the most part, they're similar.
  • Dwight Episode 4

    Dwight Episode 4
In episode 4 of season one, Dwight appears to be wearing a short sleeve brownish/greyish short sleeve dress shirt, and another dark tie to go with it. Another typical outfit from Dwight that helps display the kind of character he is and his personality.
  • Michael Episode 4

    Michael Episode 4
Episode four of season one has Michael in a long sleeve button-up dress shirt per usual, and a checkered tie with black and gold mixed in. Michaels' outfits might be so similar because he doesn't make much money as manager. At one point, Michael finds out a warehouse worker makes more money than he does and promptly requests a raise.
  • Dwight Episode 5

    Dwight Episode 5
In episode five of season six, Dwight wears a grey short-sleeve shirt with a black striped/checkered tie to go along with it.
  • Michael Episode 5

    Michael Episode 5
We see Michael wearing a blue sports coat, a light blue long sleeve dress shirt under, and a blue checkered tie to go along with it. For a man who claims he is a womanizer, he certainly doesn't dress like you think one would.
  • Dwight Episode 6

    Dwight Episode 6
In the season finale of season one, Dwight is once again seen wearing the grey monochromatic color scheme. He's got on a lighter grey colored short sleeve button-up dress shirt and a darker checkered tie to go with it. Dwight's appearance doesn't change much over the course first season of The Office, and I believe there are reasons for that. The appearance of many of the characters, and the working area itself are boring looking, to help show that the workspace just sucks.
  • Michael Episode 6

    Michael Episode 6
In the finale of season one, Michael is wearing virtually the same outfit as he did in the previous episode. Dark blue sports jacket, lighter shade of blue for the long sleeve dress shirt, and a darker colored checkered tie. Like Dwight, Michael's appearance over the first season of The Office doesn't differentiate much. His personality is the same throughout the season as well, as he is always making mistakes and offending others.
