    Projectiles

  • Factoring and Projectiles

    factoring can be used to find a parabola which indicates the height and time that a projectile was in the air. Factoring in a way gives the details and statistics to everyday things.
  • Quadratic Formula

    ax^2+bx+c+0 This formula allows us to find the x-intercepts which is what we need for our projectile motion since it causes a parabola. Someone kicks a ball in the air our answers would be 0 since that's where the ball started and 15 since that's the distance the ball traveled before it hit the ground.
  • Projectile Formulas

    y= -490t^2 + (upward velocity)*t +(starting height) height at t seconds
    x= (forward velocity) *t horizontal distance travelled after t seconds
    a bottle rocket at no angle pointed straight in the air will travel 75 feet in the air will travel only 2 feet in distance (draft of wind) and is in the air for 17 seconds.
  • Angles Of Launch

    The high the angle of launch the longer the projectile will stay in the air. Also the angle of launch is relative to the distance traveled the peak angle is 45 degrees.
