Tennis 1920
Shoes were not a concern. During the 1800s until the 1900s shoes were made from canvas and rubber. In 1920 tennis wear consisted of sweater vests and tailored pants. -
Tennis 1950
Tennis polos became the "go to". The Laurel Wreath became the logo that was launched on white polos. -
Tennis 1960s
Up until now with the creation of Adidas shoes, players were still wearing plimsoll shoes. Adidas made athletic sneakers out of leather, something no one had done before. -
Tennis 1966- 1973
Until now white was worn by tennis players. Sergio Tacchini's label brought color to the court and also more casual styles. This kickstarted a revolution in the tennis fashion that really took off in the 19th century. Nike entered the tennis scene in 1973 and created these "loud" designs that gave off rebellious impressions. -
Tennis 1980s
Nike Air Trainer 1's were created. They were not made to be tennis shoes, but McEnroe wore them on the tennis court before they were even available on the market. -
Tennis 200s
Rafael Nadal wears a sleeveless top with 3/4 pants. Something that has never been seen before. Bright eye-catching colors.
