    but slavery didn’t stop.

  • Slavery abolished in the British Empire

    but it continued in the USA

    the SOUTHERN STATES wanted to continue slavery because farmers needed workers on their plantations while the NORTHERN STATES wanted to stop it.

  • Slavery was abolished

    NORTHERN STATES won the civil war

  • Protest against RACIAL SEGREGATION

  • Civil Right Movement started

    The leader was MARTIN LUTHER KING, a black man from Alabama

  • March in Washington DC - Speech I have a dream

    250.000 people, black and white, marched to protest against discrimination. On that day King gave one of the most famous speeches in history: “I HAVE A DREAM”
