After being saved from a horrific thunderstorm Luther then devoted his life to the Church.

Taught as a professor of biblical theology at the University of Wittenburg.

Began his lectures on the Psalms and continued lectures on Paul's Epistle to the Romans. The discovery of the doctrine of justification by grace changed Luther's life and the course of church history as he understood rthe igheousness of God.

Luther posted the 95 Theses on the University's Chapel door which critiqued the Church's corruption.

In June and July he participated in a debate on Indulgences. He also continued to leacture and write in Wittenburg.

The pope issued a bull threatening Luther with excommunication.

Luther receives the bull on October 10th and publicly burns it December 10th.
