    They believed the bible had more athority than chuch leaders did, and denied the pope had the right to earthly power.

    Birth of Martin Luther
    Martin Luther was born in Eisleben, Germany, in the year 1483. His Dad worked in the copper mines.
    Martin was sent to Latin school as a child and sent to university at the age age 13.

    In 1505, Martin Luther was caught in a terible thunder storm. He prayed to saint Anne, and since he lived, he bacame a monk.
