    it was 490 B.C. when the persions came to marathon to caputure athens but the greeks were there to defend the greeks had 10000 soldiers and the persions had 48000 soldiers so the greeks sent a messenger to the spartons but they wouldnt help so the messenger ran back without back up so the greeks had to attack.

    490B.C. the greeks had won the war but the persions fled to go capture the people of athens so the greeks sent Pheidippides to warn the people of athens he ran 42 killometers to athens when he got there he showted "rejoice we conquer" then he died.
