    Innovation
    The Idea of Manhattan Beach was first conceived by D.B. Lyon. lyon bought over a mile of shoreline this year. The hotel was built in the same year.
  • Steamers

    D.B. Lyon bought two steamers while he owned the hotel, one was the Ben Lennox, renamed the Manhattan and the other was the Robert Williams. Although neither were very profitable. *The date is really sketchy.
  • Changes

    In the year of 1931, the hotel was remodeled into a nightclub. Because the lakes area wasn't as prosperous as it will in the future be. Also because then the hotel was difficult to get to by car, and lake travel wasn't the most reliable.
  • New Owners

    In the spring of 1933 H.A. Ross and W.H. Gordon bought the hotel and tore out the wide porches. In their place twenty-five cottages were built. There was a total of forty cottage on the tract.
  • New Managment

    In 1963, Ross sold the hotel to a group of four different people. One of them would have been Lucille Evans, and three others. Now the hotel was managed by a M.E. Chick.
  • Selling

    Finally in 1976, this group of four sold it to Burplace and the Fedoras.
  • Owner of the Presnt

    Owner of the Presnt
    Now the Fedoras and Burplaces sold the hotel to it's current owner, Chuck Long. Who tore down the cottages the Ross and Gordon built in 1933. In there place was built a motel like building with apartments.
