On June 15th, 2004, Fox purchased the house that many scenes were filmed in. Much of the filming for Malcolm in the Middle was done on location n various parts of the Thirty Mile Zone around Los Angeles. A privately owned home, located at 12334 Cantura Street in Studio City, was rented for upwards of $3,000 a day to film as Malcolm's house.

The family discovers they are too poor to send Malcolm to college, Reese gets a job, Dewey is smarter than Malcolm was, Lois discovers she is pregnant again, and that she expects Malcolm to become the president. After sevral seasons, we still do not know the family's last name.
