These were laws designed to keep blacks as slaves and there were penalties if these rules weren’t followed. These laws were created by confederates. -
Lincoln assasination
Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilks Booth at Ford’s theatre. Booth then ran away and was later killed. -
Reconstruction
This was a way for southern states to get back into the union and many things would come into return like federal money.
