    Battle of France/Miracle of Dunkirk
    The battle was where German forces defeated Allied forces by using mobile operations. The Germans also conquered France, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. The Germans wanted to take over the western front once and for all.
    The Miracle of Dunkirk was an evacuation code of Allied troops form the beaches and Harbor of Dunkirk. The Allied wanted the evacuation because they didn't want soldiers to be left there to die or be captured by the Nazis who were taking over France.
  • Battle of Britain

    The Battle of Britain was a military campaign to use air force attacks and other major attacks to defend the United Kingdom against the Nazi air force. The Nazis intentions during this battle was to capture and take over the Western country to gain more power against the Allied Powers to win the war.
    Because of the French being captured by the Germans they backed out of WWII leaving Great Britain alone to defend themselves against Germany. Luckily Britain was able to defend themselves.

    The Siege of Leningrad which was also referred to the 900 day siege started in the city of Leningrad, it started with the Nazis invading the Soviet Union and were working their way to take over Leningrad.
    The soviet army knew they were coming and created a blockade with tanks all around the city of Leningrad preparing for the Nazis to come and invade. Because of the blockade/siege it took more than 650,000 lives of people living within Leningrad.

    The Battle of Stalingrad was the largest battle in WWII. The battle was against the Germans and the Soviet Union for control of the city Stalingrad in Russia. In the battle the Soviets managed to stop German progression throughout Russia and marked a turning point of the war for the Allied Troops.

    The Battle of Stalingrad was also one of the bloodiest battles in history leaving casualties up to 2 million. The battle of Stalingrad was also a great humiliation to Hitler.

    The Operation Torch was the first time the British and Americans had jointly worked on an invasion plan together to invade French North Africa. Operation Torch also saw the first large scale American airborne drop when the US 509th Parachute Regiment captured two airfields near Oran.In the end they surrendered to the Allies.

    A day when an important operation begun to take effect when the allied forces invaded at Normandy.Lasted one day.
    Killed more than 4,000 Allied troops.

    The battle of Bulge was the last major German offensive campaign on the western front. The battle was against the Germans and the American troops in a forested area in the Ardennes.
    It was so hard to fight in this area because of thick fog. The Germans were then able to push the Americans into retreat. A trick the Germans used during this battle was having some commanders speaking English and infiltrated the American lines and capturing US soldiers.

    The battle of Berlin also known as the Fall of Berlin, was the final major offensive made by the Soviet Union in WWII. Two Soviet fronts attacked Berlin from the east and south while the German forces were stationed on the north side of Berlin.
    Before the battle was even over Hitler and several of his followers killed themselves before the city was left to surrender. Some troops surrendered to the Soviets while other German troops surrendered to the Western Front and Allied Forces.
