    In 1840, industrialization and urbanization opened up domestic markets. Throughout 1850 the number of farms grew about 1.4 million to 4 million.

    In 1910, the number of farms achieved up to 6.4 million and after then it started to fall.

  • 1950

    In 1950, dropped from 5.6 million to 2.2 million, and every year it just kept dropping the number.

  • 2008

    In 2008, the number of farms decreased to 2.2 million which was overall caused by the economic recession.

  • 2018

    In 2018, the agriculture in the US is currently still at a number of 2.2 million farms, howvever, that number is only supposed to increase form now on due to the GDP of 19 trillion in the United States.
