  • 1955 M.L.K Leads Bus Boycott

    Martin Luther King Jr lead the bus boycotts to end segregation on buses. The rule was any white person or people wanting to sit there if you and your family were negros you would have to leave your seat and the white man or woman would sit there.
  • 1963 "I Have a Dream"

    1963 M.L.K Jr organizes the national March to Washington D.C. Where he gives his speech for equal rights for schools, jobs, economics, voting rights,etc. This speech also inspired many African Americans that lived their whole lives with segregation that there was still was hope.
  • 1964 M.L.K Jr Wins Nobel Peace Prize

    The Nobel peace Prize is awarded to those who have done the most or the best work for nations, for the eradication or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses.
  • 1967 M.L.K Jr Gives the "Beyond Vietnam" Speech

    Martin Luther King gives his "Beyond Vietnam" speech. This speech was about America was spending millions on the Vietnam War, but no money on fighting for the rights of negroes.
  • 1968 M.L.K Planning The Poor Peoples Campaign

    King was planning a national occupation of Washington, D.C., to give the poor people's campaign, to gain economic and justice for the poor. This speech would be one of the biggest speeches for M.L.K Jr.
  • 1968 M.L.K's Assaniation.

    In 1968 April fourth M.L.K Jr was assassinated on his hotels balcony area by James Earl Ray over 200 feet away. He fired a Remington rifle from a bathroom window that looked out onto the hotel balcony where M.L.K Jr was standing. Also causing M.L.K to never give his poor peoples speech.
  • 1971 M.L.K Jr is awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Gold Medal.

    After M.L.K Jr passed away he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Gold Medal. Which is the highest civilian award to be bestowed upon a citizen of the United States.
