Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear
This was such an amusing especailly as a class. I remember it being the perfect book to get the class to participate together.
  • Dr. Seuss's ABC's

    Dr. Seuss's ABC's
This book presented a fun way of learning the ABC's. Dr. Seuss's books keep most children entertained. I know the books by Dr. Seuss were always the books I wanted to read most.
  • The Very Quiet Cricket

    The Very Quiet Cricket
This book was one of my favorite books growing up. Of course what child wouldn't love a book that has sound effects? I really enjoyed and I even enjoy it now.

  • Clifford

    Clifford
I read clifford a lot as I was learning to read. I think the main reason I chose to read this book is because it was a puppy who ended up growing to be a rather large dog.
  • The Cow That Went Oink

    The Cow That Went Oink
This is a silly book with a good lesson to teach. I read this book so many times when I was really really young. One cow oinked instead of mooing, while there was one pig that would moo instead of oinking.
  • The Very Hungry Catipillar

    The Very Hungry Catipillar
I vaguely remember this book. I know I read it, but it really didn't impact my reading experience growing up. If it had I would have a better memory of the story.
  • Where The Sidewalk Ends

    Where The Sidewalk Ends
This book is a book full of many silly poems. In second grade my teacher read us a couple of poems from this book daily right before lunch. I remember looking forward to this part of the day every single day. It is still one of my favorites.
  • Harry Potter

    Harry Potter
As I first started to read Harry Potter I was not very interested. To me it was just too long, but I still continued to read and I'm so glad I did. It wasn't enjoyable at first, but it gave me a great feeling finishing a book at this length.
  • Where the Red Fern Grows

Where the Red Fern Grows is about two Coon hounds or some sort of hunting dog. I vaguely remember this story because I think it was basically one of those books I just read because of being required to do so for class. I do recall it having a sad ending though. Too bad it was a book with little impact on my reading experiences.
  • The Outsiders

A book about to separate parts of town. This seems to be a theme for many books, two different worlds coming together. That kind of reminds of what reading does. Reading brings us, the readers, together even with the many differences through out the world. I was only in 7th grade when I read this for a reading assignment.
  • The Host

    The Host
The Host, it is currently still my favorite book. It has a rough start to it if you ask me. It is very difficult to push yourself through the beginning. It seemed very dull, but once I got passed the beginning it became my favorite. The Host has some mystery to it and even a sci-fi feel to it.
  • The Things They Carried

The Things They Carried, is about what soldiers had with them throughout the Vietnam War. It was a bit depressing, but it was a way of learning about Vietnam without it actually having to be from a history book. It made learning about an important of our history much more interesting.
  • Jane Austen

I started reading books by Jane Austen originally because we were required for my AP English class in high school. From that point on, which really wasn't long ago for me, I decided she is an author who has impacted my readin experience for the better.
  • Perfect Chemistry

    Perfect Chemistry
I did a lot of reading the summber before my junior year of high school. Perfect Chemistry just happened to be one of the books my friend recommened to me. Perfect Chemistry just seems to be sort of like another version of Romeo and Juliet. I wouldn't say I'm a fan. The book wasn't unpleasant to read, just seemed to not be very creative. The plot has been a little over done.
  • Wings

    Wings
One of the last books I read in high school in my free time. Wings is a book about fairies. The book captured my attention throughout the entire story.
