    Around the age of 24, Vinci finished his first masterpiece. This painting was the Baptism of christ by St.John. This painting took him a little over two years, and was commissioned by the monks of San Salvi near Florence. This painting was one of his few beautiful religious paintings, but this was special and the most popular of his christian faith paintings.

    Leonardo is known to be the one who invented the parachute. During his lifetime he was in many studies some including birdflight, and geometry. When his notes and journals were being found(after his death) when these notes, drawings, observations and scientific theories surfaced many things brought him back to the invention.

    Around the year 1483 leonardo finished the first version of the virgin of the rocks, this was a painting done for the monastery. This painting showed Mary in a rocky;mountainous setting with the christ child, this was another one of his religious paintings. This was a 2 version painting, this being the first and the second being finished in 1508.

    James lll of Scottland was murdered
    Matters came to a stop on 11 June 1488. When the king James lll faced the army raised by the nobles and many former councillors near Stirling the king was defeated and killed, this occured at the Battle of Sauchieburn. After his death the throne was succeeded by James lV

    This was a religious painting depicting when Christ announces to his disciples the act of betrayl would happen. This was a long picture and the paper wasn't wide enough. Thi painting was covered with grime,dirt, and candle smoke but went through restoration in 1903.

    After sailing to receive the crown, Vasco da Gama reaches India. Successfully he sailed around the southern tip of Africa. Da Gama had found a sea route from Europe to Asia this led to the new control of the spice trade.

    when Divinci was 60 years old he completed his most well known painting, the portrait of Mona Lisa. This was a painting of a new widow and who looked identical to the person. This is known all around the world, and this painting can be found in france in the Louvre Museum.

    In his later life he moved from Milan and settled in Rome he met the new king Francis. Francis was fascinated by Leonardo's art and by the age of the 63 he seemed to have been an inspirational figure, and he invited him to join his court. Leonardo was offered a huge pension and the patronage of a new and successful king.

    At the age of 67, Da vinci had passed away, at his last stop in Amboise, France. He never stopped working and was a very successful man. Up until his death he worked on his scientific studies, and the theories he believed in. During his lifetime he was known as famous artist, writer, mathmatician, and an inventor.
