    A butterfly breaks through the chrysalis and emerges out as a full adult butterfly who then starts the cycle all over again.

    Adult butterflies lay their eggs on a leaf.

  • Caterpillar

    A caterpillar hatches out of the egg. The egg becomes their first meal. They then eat leaves and continue to grow.

  • Chrysalis

    Caterpillars build a protective layer around themselves as they hang from a leaf or other object.
