Columbine
Columbine happened in Columbine Colorado in the year of 1999. Two senior students embarked in a shooting spree killing twelve students and one teacher were murdered and several others were injured. I believe this directed us to having a better and safer enviorment. Laws became more strict and protected. Awareness went from fifty precent to one hundred precent. Being in schools things such as kill, murder, or injure, became more serious then they used to be. -
Y2K
Entering the new millennium people thought the world was going to end. People believed as the year came around they thought technology was going to crash and nothing was going to work. Although 12 years later the world is still here; but people are predicting the world is going to end on December 21, 2012 because the Mayan calendar ended. -
9/11 terroist attack
The terroristic attack on the world trade center on September 11, 2001 was what began my hatred against other countries and my love for the United States. This event gave the United States a large impact, families were torn apart and the country went into total devastation. War on Iraq
After the terroristic attack on September 11; former President George W. Bush sent two million troops all together. I believe he made the right decision by putting troops into Iraq. My cousin is in the Marines, whom I am close too had to be deployed about two years ago. He came back fine nothing went wrong with him while he was there; he filled a full term there. -
Barak Obama as president...
This effected me because he promised change and where is that change? It hasn’t begun yet and his term is almost over. Obama took out troops and basically put them back into other Middle Eastern countries, promise half kept. Unemployment had risen not decreased. Once Obama ran for president votes raised. For example, the African American went up 1.1 and the Hispanic went up 1.4. I think that this happened because he would be the first “Black” president. -
Rutgers Suicide, Tyler Clemonti
I believe that his suicide wasn't only about the video taping. There was more behind it, I'd say you dont kill yourself because of one incident such as kissing the same sex. Although it drug on it wasn't completely from that. -
