Early Career
Efron began acting in the early 2000s with guest roles on several television series including Firefly, ER, and The Guardian. In 2004, he began appearing as a recurring character in the first season of the WB series Summerland. For the show’s second season, which aired in 2005, he was promoted to the main cast. He also appeared in some films, including the Lifetime television film Miracle Run, for which he earned a Young Artist Award nomination for his performance as one of two autistic twins. -

Whether Zac Efron wants to admit it or not, High School Musical will forever be a part of him, his career and his legacy as an actor. And frankly, we think this is something that should always be celebrated. Efron's turning point
Efron’s career reached a turning point with the teen musical television film High School Musical (2006), which premiered on the Disney Channel in January 2006. The film, which has been described as a modern adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, saw Efron playing the male lead Troy Bolton, a high school basketball player who feels conflicted when he finds himself interested in participating in the school musical with Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Hudgens), a girl from the scholastic decathlon team. -

This movie was a hit too, Efron had to fight over his voice to not be replaced on the singing parts of the movie by another actor and could actually sing with his own voice on this movie. -

This movie definitely was the best of them trilogy, '' the end always tears me up'' said Zac who also said thanks to Disney because thanks to them he is the famous star of today. -
Acting Carrier
In 2010, Zac started his profesional acting career when he wasn’t anymore with Disney. He played the lead role '' Charlie St. Cloud'' and in “The Lucky One” the same year. Later on 2014 he also was apart of a series of movies such as “Dirty Grandpa”, “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates” and “Neighbors”. In 2017 he was in the movie “The Greatest Showman” with Zendeya, recreating the 1990’s movie. He is currently active in his acting carrier. -
Charlie St. Cloud
Based on a best-selling 2004 book and described as a cross between Field of Dreams and The Sixth Sense, the film is the story of Charlie St. Cloud, a young man who is seriously injured in a car crash in which his young brother dies. But just before sunset the dead boy reappears to him to continue with the baseball practice that had been part of their evening ritual. This movie was really inspirational and it was filmed after High School Musical. -

Dirty Grandpa
Dirty Grandpa is a 2016 American sex comedy film about a lawyer who drives his grandfather to Florida during spring break. The film was directed by Dan Mazer and written by John Phillips. It stars Robert De Niro, Zac Efron, Aubrey Plaza, and Zoey Deutch. Received overwhelmingly negative reviews from critics, but was a box office success, grossing over $105 million worldwide. -
MTV Award
He may not have an Emmy or an Oscar but he now has two golden popcorn gongs for Best Shirtless Performance. Zac Efron was the victor for best abs on film at the MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theater on Sunday. The 27-year-old actor - who won the same award at last year's ceremony - also took home the award for Best Duo with Neighbors co-star Dave Franco. -
