At the age of 14 Leonardo became an apprentice to Andrea de Verrpcchio. His studio was much like a technical college. He learned art as science that involved math, chemistry, and architecture. This lasted about 6 years.

Leonardo da Vinci served as an aprentice to Verrocchio in Florence starting in 1469. There da Vinci learned about painting, sculpting and drawing. Verrocchio was an engineer as well as an artist so Leonardo learned about engineering during his appernticeship there as well.This is significant because this is where Leonardo learned about art and gained the knowledge he used throughout his life.

He was now a master, but he seemed dissatisfied with his life in Florence.Besides just painting he loved to sculpt things too. in Milan it gave him more of a chance to sculpt things then paint.

Martin Luther was born on December 10, 1483. He was ordained in 1507. Martin Luther lead a reform in the Church of England later in his life. This is significant because his leadership in the reform led to great advancements in the Church.

This is one of his most famous paintings along with the Mona Lisa. Leonardo began work on a large wall painting for Sforza. Twice a week, Sforza ate dinner in the refectory of the convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie

At this point in his life he was a well-known painter and artist around the world. The “Mona Lisa” was a privately commissioned work and was completed sometimes between 1505 and 1507. The painting was a picture of his real wife and merchant Lisa Gioconda. He kept this painting with him his whole life since he painted it. It now hangs in a museum in Paris, France.
