Justinian was the greatest leader of the Byzantine empire, the code has been around for more than 1000 years. In this code, it was broken into branches, public and private law. Private law was about the people and how they handle things, where public law is more related to the government. Many countries use Justinian's code for base laws, and then build on top of them.
