Martha Collier the first leader and SC/NC CLA. LLL of the Carolinas originally was both North and South Carolina, and the first Group was started in Columbia, SC in 1966. Martha Collier the first SC/NC CLA, then called NGC –"New Group Chairman"-- and also first South Carolina Leader. Janet Jendron says, “When she started the first Group in Columbia in 1966, there was a huge response. As many as 40-50 women came to meetings that were held in homes.”
